Most people can be hypnotised, as it's a natural state, however it may not be suitable for individuals with certain mental health conditions, such as severe personality disorders or psychosis. It's important to have an open conversation about any concerns or medical conditions at the Initial Consultation to ensure hypnotherapy is right for you. If in doubt, I will always recommend speaking to your GP before starting sessions.
We offer a free, no-obligation Initial Consultation. We will look at how the brain works and why we struggle with various issues. Each of the following sessions will start with a solution focused discussion, looking at progress and next steps before starting the hypnosis to embed those goals.
Yes, hypnotherapy is a safe and natural process. You remain fully in control and aware throughout the session, and you can choose to stop at any time. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a client-led approach so the suggestions which are made, are agreed upon beforehand. Hypnotherapy relies on the client feeling relaxed, so nobody can be hypnotised against their will.
As per the guidelines of the professional bodies to which we belong (CNHC and AfSFH), we work with anyone over the age of 10. We will require parental permission to work with anyone under the age of 16. Parents/Guardians must be present in the building when working with under 16's.
We pride ourselves on our efficient service and clients often see results quickly. On average, clients will have anywhere between 3 and 8 sessions, depending on need. Smoking/vaping cessation sessions are usually completed in a one-off, longer session. At your Initial Consultation, we'll agree on a plan that feels right for you and your goals.
Hypnosis is a very personal experience and it can vary from client to client. Some describe feeling light and floaty, others, heavy and grounded. You may feel calm, peaceful, and very focused - similar to the sensation of daydreaming or being completely absorbed in a soothing activity. We all enter similar stages on a daily basis when performing tasks, such as watching TV, or when we do things on auto pilot, for example, driving a familiar route and arriving at our destination without thinking about how we got there!
Not at all. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is all about moving forward. You won't need to revisit past trauma or difficult memories - instead, we focus on your strengths and the small steps that lead to meaningful change.
Yes. Everything we discuss is confidential, in line with professional and ethical guidelines. There are a few exceptions to this, which I'll explain fully at your consultation (e.g., if there is a risk of harm).
That's completely okay - and very common! You don't need to 'do' anything in a particular way. Hypnosis is a natural state that we all drift in and out of each day. With gentle guidance, you'll still be receieving all of the benefit from the session, even if your mind feels busy at first.
Whilst we cannot guarantee specific outcomes, we can guarantee that every session will be focused on helping you make positive, lasting changes. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a powerful tool, and most clients notice significant improvements over time. It is a collaborative process, which requires commitment from the client.
After a session, most people feel deeply relaxed, calm, and refreshed. You may also feel more focused, positive, and motivated. If you feel any lingering tiredness, that's normal and typically fades after a good night's rest.
Yes. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can be effective for both short-term and long-standing issues. By focusing on your strengths and golas, we can make positive changes, even if you've been struggling for a while. It's important to remember that hypnotherapy works by supporting you to make small, manageable changes that build up over time, which can lead to lasting transformation.
